Occupational Summary:

• Oversees the accounts payable department
• Ensure payments are made in a timely and accurate manner
• Manages staff and facilitates understanding of process and policies through excellent communication

Qualifications:
• Minimum 2-year accounting degree or 5 years related experience
• Ability to work with confidential information
• Must maintain current knowledge of computer system and all related software, along with Microsoft Excel
• Must maintain basic knowledge of all applicable Federal and State regulations
• Must be familiar with NYS sales tax laws

Physical Requirements:
Job requires the following physical activities: sitting, standing, walking, reaching,
lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, finger dexterity, repetitive motions. The work
is performed primarily indoors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Must be organized and possess STRONG attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to multitask is a MUST
– Maintain close working relationship with Owners and Management and provide analysis as needed
– Propose recommendations to improve quality of internal processes and procedures
– Manage staff and ensure accounting procedures are followed, invoices and checks are reviewed, and vendors are paid timely
– Resolve any vendor issues, reconcile statements, and ensure sales tax is accrued properly on vendor invoices
– Maintain and monitor various accounting schedules for accuracy
– Timely reporting of advertising and co-op payments received
– Administer and monitor corporate credit cards, along with our Supplier Pay Program
– Maintain Insurance Certificates & W-9’s for year end 1099 reporting
– Maintain Gas authorized signers and oversee gas reconciliation process
– From time to time all employees are asked to perform reasonable administrative functions outside of this job description. In addition, all employees are expected to be cross-trained on other job descriptions within the department to facilitate vacations, medical leaves, etc.
